My Favorite Self Tanner
If you have been following me for a while on Instagram, you probably know that I use Loving Tan Self Tanner. However, what I haven't told you is why I am obsessed with this product, especially in the summer. I love the fact that I can have a beautiful golden glow without the damaging effects from the sun or tanning bed.
What I have learned in my 30 something years is that the sun's rays are very damaging, and I'm not at a point in my life to be damaging my skin more than I did back when I was 16 and use to go to the tanning bed. In fact, I use to tan so much that it gave me quite a scare back several years ago. I went in for what I thought would be a regular dermatologist check up, had a mole removed, and later found out that it was basal cell carcinoma. That's right, skin cancer... talk about an oh crap moment. Luckily, if you HAD to choose the type of skin cancer to get, this is probably the one you would want to choose. I had clear margins with the removal and haven't had any issues with it coming back. Now, I have to go to the dermatologist every year for a skin check. I've probably had 10-15 moles removed from my body since this happened, mainly for precautionary measures.
I am telling you all of this to say that I still love a golden glow as much as the next girl, but I have to be careful about how I get it! Nowadays, it's all spray tans and self tanners for me. Let's be honest, everyone should be wearing sunscreen...especially on your face! However, I digress...that's a post for another day,. What I want you to take from this is, you can still maintain a healthy golden glow without the damaging effects of the sun. Loving Tan is my go-to product for achieving that golden glow that looks like you just stepped off of a tropical island. Believe me when I tell you, I have tried all self tanners and this is the only one I continue to use year after year.
